One of BPW’s key objectives is to encourage women to strive to be leaders in their fields. This month, we have asked a distinguished guest panel to discuss their personal journeys into civic leadership, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities that can face women aspiring to leadership roles.

Introducing our guest panel:
Dr Mal Washer MP,
Federal member for Moore
Following a successful career in medicine, Dr Washer entered federal politics in 1998. Aside from medicine, Dr Washer is passionate about science, innovation and the environment.
Andrea Mitchell MLA,
Member for Kingsley
Ms Mitchell entered state politics in 2008, following many years working in public education. Holding many leadership positions in the community, Ms Mitchell is particularly passionate about tennis.
Mayor Tracey Roberts,
City of Wanneroo
Elected as mayor in October 2011, Ms Roberts has extensive experience and qualifications in local government. Ms Roberts is overseeing a period of significant planned growth for the City, as it expands into the Alkimos-Eglinton region.
Councillor Philippa Taylor,
City of Joondalup
Elected to council in 2011, Cr Taylor has recently won WA Labour Party pre-selection for Ocean Reef. Passionate about local issues, Cr Taylor is looking forward to the next challenge in her political career.

To attend this event you will need to RSVP and pay in advance.
- By credit card: for this Dinner Meeting we have set up a pre-payment option using Eventbrite. Those of you who have already used this tool will know how simple and safe it is as a payment option. The link to our event is http://bpwjseptember2012.eventbrite.com.au/ . When you register and pay on Eventbrite your RSVP is automatically submitted.
- By direct deposit: There is still the option of payment by direct deposit. Our bank details are on the invitation bellow. Please RSVP by email first, then when paying online make sure you include your name as the reference.
So, if you would like to attend please RSVP by either linking to Eventbrite or emailing your acceptance and making your direct deposit by Friday 31st August so that we can confirm catering arrangements with the venue. This month our dinner meeting is being held at the Joondalup Reception Centre.

Members: 6.15pm for 7.00pm start Cost: $40.00
Non-Members: 6.45pm for 7.00pm start Cost: $45.00
