Graphic Designer

Melissa Nelson joined Staying in Touch early in 2012 as a part-time Graphic Designer after graduating from Edith Cowan University with a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Graphic Design).

“After applying for the position at Staying in Touch I was also offered a casual job as an in-house graphic designer for a high profile fashion designer – a opportunity that Liz agreed was too good to refuse!” said Melissa. “However, I needed to work full-time hours. I really appreciated Staying in Touch giving me the flexibility to work part-time days around the hours the fashion company offer. This way I feel I’m getting the best of both worlds!”

I find inspiration in many places - books (including the Thesaurus), magazines and the internet. I love making mental connections between disparate sources.
Favourite book is possibly "Joseph" by Terri L Fivash. Favourite authors include Georgette Heyer, Angie Sage, Shannon Hale and Diana Wynne Jones.
Europe - to see its historical architecture. Also it would have to include Germany, to visit a girl who stayed with us as an exchange student for eleven months.
Read. Read more. Do ironing, etc. Scrapbook.
I used to dream of being 6 foot tall but I never quite made it. I'm 177cm (about 5'10") - but I often wear high heels!
